2018 iPad Pro 3 Will Be Smaller And Ditch The Headphone Jack
Expected to be released this year is the highly anticipated Apple iPad Pro 3 (iPad Pro 2018) and fans are constantly on the lookout for new details about it. This time around, a new rumor suggests that there will be a decrease in size for both variants, drop the headphone jack, and more.
According to reports, the rumor came from Japanese site Macotakara. On the rumor, it claimed that the 10.5-inch variant will go from 250.6 x 174.1 x 6.1 mm to 247.5 x 178.7 x 6 mm. Meanwhile the 12.9-inch model with go from 305.7 x 220.6 x 6.9 mm to 280 x 215 x 6.4 mm.
The decreased in size is quite interesting as it differs a bit from Ming-Chi Kuo’s prediction. We are not saying that Kuo’s prediction is correct, but him having a quite the dependable record for predicting Apple products is quite impressive.
Well, Kuo predicted that the for the smaller variant of the iPad Pro 3, it will keep the same size but will have a larger screen – from 10.5 inches to 11 inches. As for the larger variant, it will reduce the size of its bezels and will stick to the 12.9-inch display, but its overall size will decrease.
The Face ID
Another claim was that although it will feature Face ID, both devices won’t support recognition in landscape mode. Basing it on previous reports that we’ve gathered, the devices were reported to support for landscape oriented Face ID recognition and multi-user Face ID support.
The Headphone Jack
It won’t feature a 3.5mm headphone jack. Well, about this, there hasn’t been any strong indication from previous reports if the upcoming iPad will even have this so there’s nothing much to say.
The Smart Connectors
Lastly, the Smart Connectors will be moved to the lower rear side of the devices, close to the Lightning connector. For this part, again, there isn’t that much to say about this as well.
