Samsung Galaxy Note 9: Killer Features and Specs Coming At IFA 2018
If there is one product that people are most excited about for this year, it is the Samsung Galaxy Note 9. The highly-awaited next entry in the Korean tech giant’s Galaxy series is set to be one of the year’s top-selling smartphones.
Samsung Galaxy Note 9 features and specs
With the release of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 set in August according to Forbes, tech experts and pundits are already speculating what features and specs will be seen in the new smartphone. It is set to be officially unveiled in IFA 2018 in Berlin. These are among potentially amazing features and specs that may be part of the next Galaxy device:
Boosts in performance
Reports say that the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will have a major improvement in its performance due to the Android 8.1 OS, 6GB RAM, and Snapdragon 845 chipset. As to the storage, the three choices are the 64GB, 248GB and 512GB variants. The last variant is reported to be an exclusive that will be available only to buyers from South Korea and China.
Changed position of the scanner
It is almost guaranteed that the scanner’s position will be changed. However, leaks indicate different locations. One leak says that the scanner will be placed below the lens of the camera. There are also rumors that the fingerprint scanner will be built into the display screen.
Wider and thicker dimensions
Reports confirm that the Galaxy Note 9 will be a bit shorter but wider and thicker than its predecessor. The phone’s dimensions clock in at 161.9 x 76.3 x 8.8mm when measured. The screen, on the other hand, measures 6.3 inches.
Near bezel-less design
Leaked designs show that the next Note smartphone will have slimmer bezels. While the initial plan was said to be a bezel-less design, the technology for that is not yet available. This is why Samsung settled with narrower bezels instead.
It is already confirmed that the Note 9 will be having a brand new S-Pen when it reaches retailers, according to The Inquirer. What makes this stylus different from those of its predecessors is the fact that it comes with Bluetooth and can be used for a wide range of functionalities. One of these functions includes some degree of control on the camera shutter and music.
Improved dual-lens camera
The Galaxy Note 9 will be carrying over the dual-lens camera from previous Samsung devices. What will be new about this smartphone is the possible inclusion of HDR video recording feature.
Fast wireless charger
Apart from the expected boost in battery life due to the 4,000mAh cell, the Note 9 will also be getting a wireless charger. While wireless charging is not an entirely new technology, it does make things more convenient for users. It also takes just an hour or so for the phone to become full. This will make the smartphone experience even better due to the longer battery life.
