The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A7 (2017) successors have now made its first appearance. Dubbed as Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018), these devices flaunt an infinity display, dual front camera, and other awesome features.

According to GSMArena, these devices from the South Korean tech company sit closer to the S-series. As a matter of fact, the Galaxy A8 (2018) and A8+ (2018) embrace the Infinity Display design which is similar to Samsung’s premium handsets. Apart from that, these smartphones have 18.5:9 aspect ratio and curved glass. This specification makes these two phones the first A-series gadgets to have support Gear VR. The smaller Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) is equipped with 5.6-inches screen while the Galaxy A8+ (2018) stretches to 6-inches.

As for the camera department, India Today has learned that these two smartphones are Samsung’s first dual selfie camera. One can find a 16MP + 8MP combo in both of these handsets. Both also have the Live Focus feature that lets the user choose whether the background is in focus or on soft bokeh. The phones can flawlessly shift between the two front cameras to obtain the said effect.

Meanwhile, the main camera has been improved with a brighter f/1.7 aperture for the 16MP sensor. Digital stabilization has been added to have stable videos, while the Hyperlapse mode will help reduce things to just the idea.

The Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018) have support for Samsung Pay, IP68 waterproofing and fast charging technology using USB-C. When it comes to the battery capacity, these devices are powered by 3,000mAh and 3,500mAh batteries respectively. The recently launched phones from Samsung runs on Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box.

For the price, the Galaxy A8 is tagged at €499 while the larger model priced at €599. As of this moment, there is no information if these phones will be sold outside of Europe but it is now available in the US.
