Overwatch Xmas Latest Update: Winter Wonderland Mode, New Skins Now Available
Blizzard has rolled out the Overwatch Xmas update. It brings back the Winter Wonderland event from last year’s holiday celebration. Apart from that, there are also new skins and a limited-time mode to look into.
Similar to other Overwatch event, the skins are always the best part. It can be recalled that Blizzard already teased that Junkrat and Roadhog would be among those to obtain Legendary skins. Meanwhile, the “long-awaited Hanzo skin” from the comics would also be counted in. Sombra and Ana are other heroes who get new looks.
Moreover, the Overwatch Xmas update also includes a new, winterized version of Black Forest together with the holiday-themed versions of King’s Row and Hanamura. The Mei’s Snowball Offensive Brawl also comes back and Blizzard also introduced another new brawl.
Mei’s Yeti Hunt sees a team of five Meis to contend against one player, who takes on the role of Winston with his Yeti skin. Things play out a lot similar to Evolve, wherein the Meis seek out Winston, who wanders the map to get power-ups. After he collects ample power-ups, he will now enter the Primal Rage mode, and the Meis have to escape to elude from being killed. Once adequate Meis–or Winston–are slaughtered, the game is now over.
According to Jeff Kaplan of Blizzard, Yeti Hunt is intended for the players to just have fun. This only means that it’s not intended to be a highly competitive mode. Gamers can queue up for this using standard matchmaking or they can join a match with five other friends. In queuing, they can set if they prefer Mei or Winston, though given the mode’s nature; they won’t always get to play on the side they chose.
The Winter Wonderlands is accessible from now until January 1 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. This is comprised of all the last year’s skins and content, and Blizzard has dropped its costs to make them easier to get. What can you say about the Overwatch Xmas update?
