Nokia 9 To Feature In-Display Fingerprint Scanner, SD 845 and Powerful Camera
The Nokia 9 is one of the highly anticipated phones this year and people are always on the lookout for new details regarding it. This time, a German news publishing site claims that they received some documents revealing that HMD is working on a new flagship phone.
The New Flagship Phone
According to the documents, HMD is working with its hardware supplier and manufacturing partner FIH Mobile (Foxconn) on a new flagship phone. The new flagship phone is referred as “A1 Plus”, but is also referred as “A1P” or “AOP”.
So what does this have to do with the Nokia 9? The article notes that the device is closely related to the Nokia 8 Sirocco which was referred as “A1N”. Furthermore, the document indicates that the A1 Plus will be packed with a Snapdragon 845 – and just so you know, the Nokia 8 Sirocco features a Snapdragon 835.
When Will It Be Released?
The device seems to be exclusively intended for the European market because the document mentions “A1 Plus Euro”. It is expected to be launched between August and September – probably during the IFA 2018 (August 31 to September 5, 2018) to be held at Berlin, Germany.
Specs And Features
Aside from the Snapdragon 845 processor, the high-end device will be featuring a fingerprint scanner on its display. Initially, the developers had problems incorporating this feature because there were massive latencies in unlocking the device. However, HMD finally was able to solve this by using a thinner glass cover on the display. And apparently, the in-display fingerprint scanner will be similar to that found on Vivo X21 UD and Huawei Mate RS.
Another information mentioned was regarding its camera. Although no exact details were given, it was mentioned that during the development process, there were various hurdles that they had to overcome and mentions “high risk”.
With that being said, one could assume that it could probably be a powerful camera. But given that no exact details were given, it’s best to take it with a pinch of salt.
So do you think that this Nokia A1 Plus, A1P or AOP could be the Nokia 9? We would like to hear from you in the comment section below.
