Things To Look Forward To At Mobile World Congress 2018
February will end with a bang! Guess why. The world’s biggest mobile fair MWC will take place in Barcelona on February 26, 2018. Over 2300 mobile phone manufacturing companies will display their latest tech devices this year. About 208 countries are likely to participate in the event.
Last year’s MWC was attended by millions of smartphone phone freaks from across the world. Top launches of MWC 2017 had a wide variety of powerful and innovative devices along the MWC horizon. BlackBerry KeyOne, Huawei P10, Huawei P10 Plus, Huawei Watch 2, Huawei Watch 2 Classic, LG G6, Moto G5, Moto G5 Plus, Nokia 3310, Nokia 6, Samsung Galaxy Tab S3, Samsung Galaxy Book, Sony Xperia XZ, Sony Xperia XZ Premium were among the top runners.
The Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 is going to be even more exhilarating. Not merely a mobile show, but this MWC 18 will focus on how mobile technology will contribute to making a better world. While we expect a long list of smartphone line up. Do expect fireworks (not literally) from this year’s event.
Samsung, the South Korean giant will reveal Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus. Fans can expect few updates like fingerprint sensor positioning, a metal frame, minimized bezels. Samsung is planning for quite a few more changes. The screen size will vary in both Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus to 5.8 inch AMOLED and 6.8 inch AMOLED, respectively. And an Exynos 9810 chipset for Asia and US market will see a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 SoC (System on Chip).
Huawei will put up the MateBook on display instead of phones, this year. This is going to surprise the fans, for sure. A report suggests a new variant in the Mediapad tablet might be scheduled for release. We can also see the successor to the Huawei Watch 2.
Motorola has planned to showcase Moto G6, G6 Plus, and G6 Play. The basic difference between the two models – G6 and G6 Plus will be the camera display. G6 will have 5.6 inches full HD display while G6 plus will have 5.93 inches full HD display. The Moto model G6 Play will have 5.7 inch HD screen display. All the 3 models will sport Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipset.
The Finnish manufacturer will send Nokia 9 to hog the limelight this year. Equipped with 5.5 inches Quad HD OLED display, curved edges of the screen, Nokia 9 is set to have Snapdragon 835 processor. Fans can also see Nokia 7 powered by Snapdragon 660, 4 GB RAM, 64 GB internal storage plus a dual camera and enhanced technology to deal with low light.
How can Xiaomi lag behind in an event like MWC 2018? The Chinese manufacturer will unveil Mi 7 at the much coveted mobile event of this year. The device will be powered with Snapdragon 845 chip from Qualcomm, thin bezels, a tiny front cam at the top right corner. Xiaomi will also showcase ecosystem products this year, apart from phones.
Sony is trying to revive its charm. Participation in an event like MWC 2018will definitely does some good to this Japanese mobile giant. Sony’s XZ Pro will make a cut here in MWC. It will have 5.7 inch OLED screen, 4k resolution (feature for which Sony is known best) combined with Snapdragon 845 chipset and 6GB of RAM.
