It’s been almost two years since the release of its original and we still don’t know much about its successor, the Surface Studio 2. So far, we only know about its potential release date.

However, that still didn’t stop people from making a wish list of what they want to see in the upcoming Surface Studio. Let’s review them, shall we?

The Release Date

According to a published report at Window Central, the Surface Studio 2 is a-go and is expected come this fall. With that, it could be between September and November.

The Price

Regarding its price tag, it’s still unknown and it’s hard to speculate. Currently, the Surface Studio costs between $2,999 and $4,999. And if people are wishing for something, that would be knocking its price down a little bit because, despite all its amazing specs and features, $2,999 is still a bit pricey.

Specs & Features

Just like its price, its specs and features are unknown. However, there are some things that people would like to see in the upcoming device:

  • First is a sharper screen. The current model features 4,500 x 3,000-pixel resolution across the sRGB, DCI-P3 and Vivid color spaces, and people are hoping that Microsoft could increase that.
  • Second is a more powerful processor. Although the current model is powerful, people were still a bit disappointed in regards to the processor it was packing because it was sporting a 6th-gen Intel chip which is primarily intended for mobile computers. Hopefully, the upcoming Studio will be sporting something much higher than that.
  • Third is Thunderbolt 3 connectivity. Hopefully, it will have a fully updated Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port could help people connect their external GPUs.
  • Fourth is moving from hybrid drive to SSD. On the current model, it featured a hybrid drive which sad to say wasn’t really the best – according to a report. It would be nice if Microsoft will just stick with a full SSD drive for a big speed boost.
  • Fifth would be all accessories included. People are expecting that all of the essential accessories (e.g. Surface Mouse, Surface Dial, etc.) will be included when purchasing the device.

So what are your thoughts and opinions regarding the Surface Studio 2? Are the items listed here included as per your wish list? We would like to hear from you in the comment section below.
