KGI Confirms 6.1-Inch iPhone, iPhone X Plus; Might Flaunt Two-Cell Batteries & 4GB RAM
The iPhone X Plus has been roaming around the rumor mills for quite some time now. Recently, KGI Securities Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo seems to shed some light as he revealed that the much-anticipated iPhone might sport two-cell batteries, 4GB of RAM and other remarkable features. Also, a 6.1-inch iPhone is hinted to be released.
6.1-inch iPhone Possible Features and Specs
Most often, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo conveys information that he obtained from sources within Apple’s supply chain in Asia. According to him, the rumored 6.1-inch iPhone is gearing up to have a lower price tag than the iPhone X. Nonetheless, there are some design compromises as well. Kuo formerly stated that these changes include an aluminum frame, absence of 3D Touch, a single lens rear-facing camera, and 3GB of RAM.
NextGen iPhone X and iPhone X Plus Possible Enhancements
Kuo has also revealed that the second-generation iPhone X and a bigger 6.5-inch version, which is being referred to as iPhone X Plus will each pack an increased 4GB of RAM. Of course, given its bigger physical size, the iPhone X Plus is also anticipated to house up to 25 percent larger battery capacity of 3,300 up to 3,400 mAh compared to the iPhone X.
KGI Securities analyst further added that that the Cupertino-based tech company settled on a two-cell battery and L-shaped design for the upcoming iPhone X and iPhone X Plus. It can be recalled that the initially released iPhone X is armed with a single-cell, L-shaped design. With battery enhancement, this could yield up to 10 percent additional capacity.
With that being said, the iPhone X and iPhone X Plus may have similar specifications and features except for the latter’s larger screen size. Kuo further stated that he doesn’t expect any enhancements to be made to the TrueDepth camera system until 2019. Nonetheless, he guesses the devices to sell well, particularly the 6.1-inch iPhone with a lower price tag.
