The iPad 2018 is the cheapest tablet that Apple has ever released. Introduced to the market for a still hefty basic price of $330, it possesses great features of the iPad without being as expensive as previous products. However, as the release of the iPad Pro 3 nears, a lot of consumers are asking whether the purchase of the 2018 version of the iPad will still be worth it.

iPad 2018 vs iPad Pro 3

With the upcoming availability of the iPad Pro 3, it is increasingly obvious that a lot of tech lovers will be torn between these two devices. In this article, we will be looking at the major features of the iPad 2018 and see whether it can hold up a candle to the expected improvements in the Pro 3.

Camera

The 2018 version of the iPad has a decent camera. When taking pictures while brightly lit, it can take good images. However, the quality decreases whenever the light drops. Needless to say, it is not the perfect device that you would want to use for photography. That said, the 1.2 MP front camera works very well for video chat.

Performance

Even with a relatively weak 2GB RAM, this iPad still performs well enough. This is due to the A10 Quadcore 2.34GHz processor and PowerVR Series7XT Plus graphics card, according to the Daily Star.

Audio

The 2018 iPad version has a normal stereo that can produce audio loud enough for videos and gaming. This can be found on the side of the tablet. However, the quality of the sound leaves a lot to be desired.

Pencil

Before this year, iPad pencil support was only available for the Pro line. The fact that the iPad 2018 is the first device outside of the iPad Pro line to have this feature should make it a must-have for consumers.

Display

Just like other iPads, the 2018 version pulls out all the stops with its display. It has a 4:3 screen ratio with stunning colors and 264ppi density.

Why iPad Pro 3 may be worth the wait

The iPad Pro 3 is arguably one of the most highly anticipated Apple products of the year. It may be twice the current price of the 2018 “regular” iPad. But it is packed with magnificent features. On top of the list is TrueTone, which helps make color tone-adjustment for printing easier.

Other iPad news

In related iPad news, it looks like Apple is gearing for the release of a whole new set of devices this year. Reports say that the Cupertino-based tech conglomerate has registered Macs, iPhones, and iPads with the Eurasian Economic Commission. This means that these products may arrive soon in countries like Russia, Armenia, Belarus, and Kyrgyzstan.

It is said that two iPad models have been registered with the commission. This may be the two models of the 2018 iPad Pro refresh that has long been rumored to be for release in the next few months.

Which of the iPad 2018 and iPad Pro 3 will you be buying? Which do you think will come out better? Let us know by posting in the comments section below.
