Asus ROG US Release Confirmed; Price and Availability Details Are Still Under Wraps
Asus will unveil its very first gaming smartphone dubbed as Asus ROG by the year’s third quarter; however, no specific date of the launch has been given. Currently, the said gaming smartphone has been confirmed to be publicly released in the United States since it is already listed on Asus’s official USA website. But the phone’s price has not been disclosed as of this writing.
The Asus ROG gaming smartphone is designed with a 6-inch AMOLED Full=HD+ screen that has a refresh speed of 90Hz along with a response time of 1 ms that likewise supports HDR. Internally, the said smartphone is driven by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 processor that has a faster clock frequency measured at 2.96GHz.
Aside from having a top-end processor, Asus’s ROG gaming smartphone is equipped with an 8GB RAM including an internal storage of 128GB or 512GB. The smartphone also showcases a front 8MP camera and a rear 12MP + 8MP dual camera system.
The smartphone has an Android 8.1 Oreo operating system that is fueled by a 4,000mAh battery that sustains the ASUS HyperCharge – a fast charging technology. Asus transferred the phone’s internal charging chip to the power adapter to lessen the heat when the phone is being charged.
The special X Mode of the Asus ROG Phone is activated when the sides of the phone are squeezed. The special X Mode that comes with the phone focuses all its processing power to the game that is currently being played by stopping all other background tasks, and when the X Mode is activated, the phone’s user interface also changes from the color blue to a deep red.
Having introduced the phone at the Computex 2018, Asus still has not divulged details regarding its availability in the international markets. The company has not made any mention of the phone’s price either. As per the latest reports, aside from being presented in the United States, the Asus ROG is similarly expected to be released in India on September 2018.
