Apple iPhone SE 2: Release Date, Specs and Features of iPhone SE 2018
Talks and rumors on Apple’s iPhone SE2 or iPhone SE 2018 cease to subside. From leaked images of the design of the supposed device to giving it a new name, speculations about this new and budget-friendly smartphone continues to rise. However, it is still not clear when exactly the new iPhone SE 2 will enter the market.
iPhone SE 2 Release Date
The iPhone SE 2018 is expected to be launched at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on June 4, 2018. Even though the event is mostly software oriented, Apple has showcased hardware too at the WWDC in the past. New HomePod smart speaker, iPads, and MacBooks were launched last year. While some say that there will be an update to iPhone SE2 at WWDC 2018, reliable sources suggest that Apple fans will have to wait for the September keynote, which is when the other new iPhones are expected to release.
Japanese Apple blog Macotakara, on May 13 claimed that production of the second-generation iPhone SE is yet to begin. Citing personal sources, it said that the product will enter the market between July and September this year.
iPhone SE 2 Rumored Features and Specs
According to the renders recently revealed by case maker Olixar, the new iPhone 2018 SE 2 will have a stunning all-screen design like iPhone X. This, if true means the end of the Touch ID fingerprint scanner on the SE. Apple might choose to use Face ID technology on its new product.
The iPhone SE 2, like all of Apple’s new flagships, will be covered in glass which means that it can be charged wirelessly. The device is also rumored to come with a waterproof build, 12MP rear camera, A10 CPU with 2GB of RAM, and a 1,700 mAh battery.
It is highly unlikely that iPhone SE2 will be launched at the WWDC 2018 since it has been confirmed that the final design for the product is not yet ready. However, it is still possible that the tech giant will give out some information regarding the iPhone releases at the conference.
